Liquid Rubber South Africa HB-Sealant is a tough multipurpose long-lasting sealant and waterproofing product which can be applied by brush or roller.

No primers needed, apply directly to clean surface free of dust, friable rust, flaky paint, and other contaminants. Dilute HB-Sealant with water 2:1 to use as primer on concrete and porous surfaces.

 Where should Liquid Rubber South Africa HB-S200 be used?

Use Liquid Rubber South Africa HB-Sealant to provide a permanent waterproof seal between the roof deck and any mechanical protrusions, at parapet walls, around skylights and drains, to repair tears in membrane roofing and to seal fixture points on metal roofs.

The most common uses include inside of gutters, around pipes, vents, chimneys, and other roof penetrations, repair of small leaks in all types of roof coverings.

Seal joints and cracks in concrete, in and around outlets, around mechanical penetrations in concrete foundations. Use Liquid Rubber South Africa HB-Sealant to seal where foundation walls join footings.

 Application

This high build, brush grade product is applied between 2-3mm thick. Make sure you work Liquid Rubber South Africa HB-S200 onto the surface so good contact is achieved. To build strength and produce a strong water barrier around roof protrusions HB-Sealant should be applied first to the surfaces to be protected then a geotextile membrane (to ensure saturation - wet fabric with water and wring dry) embed fabric, make sure to smooth out creases, allow to dry before application of 2nd and 3rd coat.

To repair holes and tears in membrane roofing first cut out a section of the membrane back to where it is fully adhered to the roof deck. Fill the hole with multiple coats of Liquid Rubber South Africa HB-Sealant and geo-fabric, building up the product until it is level with the original membrane surface.

Use Liquid Rubber South Africa HB-Sealant to overlap the steps of chimney flashings as well as the brick. The product can be used to seal over cracks in mortar, which can be a leak source. Loose mortar should be repaired.

Liquid Rubber South Africa HB-Sealant can be applied when the temperature is between, 5°C and 45°C

For roofing applications HB-Sealant is used to repair two (2) types of leaks, roof penetrations and roof materials.

Roof penetrations:  The most common leak is around a pipe, vent, skylight, cable, chimney   parapet   wall or anything that penetrates through the roof.

 Roof material: Cracks and holes can form in aging roof structures. If small areas of the roof have become brittle, water can penetrate through cracks, which may not  look like a leak source.

Liquid Rubber South Africa HB-Sealant is compounded from select refined bitumen emulsion and elastomeric polymers to give an easy to apply fast drying sealant that strongly adheres to surfaces and has the flexibility needed to manage structural movements caused by wind and thermal cycles.
